Area Meetings
Thursday, August, 27. Many National Board meetings take place during the days prior to the traditional start of the conference, namely the General Assembly. These meetings start on the Saturday before the General Assembly and continue through Thursday afternoon.

One of the most important meetings, especially to the District Commodores is the Thursday Area meetings. The DCOs of the three National Areas, Atlantic East and West and Pacific meet with their respective Deputy National Commodores (DNACO) in closed door session. It is in this type of meeting the DCOs can air their problems and seek crosstalk assistance from the other DCOs and DNACO.

The meeting also focuses on the recommendations that have been carried forward for ation at NACON. Their vote, yea or nea, will determine the success of the recommendation making it to the General Assembly floor.

These Area meetings take place about four times a year, taking advantage of NACON for one of the sites.
