Chicago, August 25. From time to time special training needs are recognized and the National Conference becomes a natural setting for this training. The CG Leadership Training Center recognized a need is for highly trained meeting and course facilitators.  The current session at NACON has seated Auxiliarists and active duty Coast Guardsman. This is the first time that this workshop has been presented with both active duty and Auxiliarists in attendance.

The purpose of the course is to develop leadership knowledge and skills necessary for Auxiliary and active duty Coast Guard personnel to effectively lead teams.  They will serve as change agents in today’s challenging, high operation tempo.  Emphasis will be placed on effectively managing group dynamics, identifying opportunities for improvement.  They will also focus on implementing change initiatives so as to lead better workgroups, cross-functional teams, and other types of teams to continuously improve performance.

‘The goal of this course is for the attendees to learn and practice tools, techniques, and concepts that will improve their skills as a facilitator or team leader,” said session facilitator CWO Michael Brzezicki, Ph.D., USCG.

The attendee are active duty Coast Guard E-6 to E-9, W-2 to W-4, O-2 to O-5, civilian personnel GS-12 to GS-14 and senior Auxiliarists.
