Ms. FREEMAN is cited for outstanding achievement while serving as Chief, Education Department from January 2007 to January 2008. She expertly coordinated the development, printing, and national distribution of the 13th edition of the Boating Skills and Seamanship public education course. Ms. FREEMAN’s superb organizational and technical skills were invaluable to the comprehensive revision of this benchmark Auxiliary boating safety outreach tool. As a direct result of her steadfast commitment to the creation of a high-quality product, the Auxiliary’s profile and image were significantly raised among America’s boaters who sought to increase their nautical proficiency, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary Association, Inc. realized markedly increased revenue from the course’s retail sales. Exercising similar project management expertise, Ms. FREEMAN adeptly led development, printing, and distribution of the Auxiliary’s new Sailing Skills and Seamanship public education course. Her uncompromising allegiance to quality yielded a modern, fully updated and accredited boating safety course specifically designed for sailors. Applying keen programmatic insight and a robust penchant for teamwork, Ms. FREEMAN worked closely with the Auxiliary Training Department to design and coordinate the wholesale revision of the Auxiliary’s new Instructor Development Course which significantly updated and improved the preparatory tools for Auxiliary instructors. Ms. FREEMAN’s dedication, judgment, and devotion to duty are most heartily commended and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
