Cape May

Situated at the southern-most point of New Jersey sits the picturesque city of Cape May.  Victorian style multi-colored homes, wide beaches, the Atlantic Ocean and a multitude of tourist attractions make Cape May a wonderful summer destination.

Now that the summer season is past, the town takes on a slow pace.  Add this to the fact that the Coast Guard Training and Support Center (TRACEN Cape May), with all of its facilities, is located at one end of town makes this a perfect locale for NSAR.  Boat docks, class and meeting rooms, mess deck and a fully stocked Base Exchange are just some of the amenities found within the station.

Briefly, the mission of TRACEN Cape May is to build the enlisted corps by forging America's volunteers into basically trained, highly motivated and proud Maritime Guardians.  These are men and women who are morally, mentally and physically fit to wear the Coast Guard uniform and execute Coast Guard missions in the 21st century.  TRACEN Cape May is dedicated to supporting our tenant and collocated units' readiness and to enhancing the quality of life of those we serve.  We adhere to the values of honor, respect and devotion to duty.

In addition to "boot camp,” TRACEN Cape May is host to four other training programs.  These include Recruiter School, Company Commander School, Reserve Enlisted Basic Indoctrination, and the Prior Service Training Program.  We also serve as a support center, providing services to 14 tenant/collocated units including a Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic located onboard the Training Center.
