Mr. WESTCOTT is cited for superior performance of duty while serving as Chief, Internal Communications Division from August 2007 to July 2008. Mr. WESTCOTT enthusiastically tackled the numerous demands of Auxiliary programs for facilitated inter-programmatic communications and enhanced web-based professional development tools. Exercising an inventive approach to these challenges, he coordinated major efforts to augment and improve the Auxiliary’s e-learning programs, e-magazine SITREP, online portions of Navigator, and AUX E-News newsletters. Under his practical and fervent supervision, the e-magazine SITREP was redesigned to include new multi-media tools and more easily readable formats. Mr. WESTCOTT worked closely with other national staff officers to identify new opportunities to expand and improve communication among their programs, and he spearheaded re-inauguration of the Auxiliary Press Corps to improve the quality and quantity of Auxiliary internal and external communications. A consummate mentor and emissary, Mr. WESTCOTT served as lead instructor in Auxiliary Marketing and Public Affairs C-schools, proudly represented the Auxiliary at many media events, and wrote a multitude of articles on Auxiliary communication flow. Mr. WESTCOTT’S diligence, perseverance, and devotion to duty are most heartily commended and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
