Mr. DAVENPORT is cited for outstanding achievement while serving as the National Conference Coordinator from January to August 2008. Demonstrating superb leadership and unparalleled determination, Mr. DAVENPORT readily took on the daunting challenges of this demanding assignment after the untimely passing of the Auxiliary’s previous National Conference Coordinator. Exercising a profound sense of organizational loyalty coupled with exceptional professional expertise, he fully leveraged his expansive logistical and managerial experience to rapidly marshal the National Conference Coordination team and organize all available resources with less than seven days notice in order to complete the 2008 National Training Conference in St Louis, Missouri. As a direct result of Mr. DAVENPORT’s perseverance and “Can do” attitude, the National Training Conference was successfully held on time, on budget, and in completely seamless and flawless fashion. Employing similar dedication and attention to detail, he planned and arranged virtually all aspects of three National Area Planning Meetings, the Coast Guard Auxiliary Association Board of Directors Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 2008 Summer National Executive Committee meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the 2008 National Conference in Orlando, Florida. Mr. DAVENPORT’s unwavering allegiance and uncompromising resolve served as shining examples of Auxiliary capacity to sustain its commitment to excellence despite immense adversity. Mr. DAVENPORT’S dedication, judgment, and devotion to duty are most heartily commended and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
