AUXILIARY COMMENDATION MEDAL
Mr. Chester H. Lowe
"Mr. LOWE is cited for outstanding achievement while serving as Director of Development for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary from November 2004 to September 2006. Displaying superb programmatic leadership and organizational skill, Mr. LOWE pursued and obtained public and corporate donations to support the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Mr. LOWE's unwavering commitment to the development of these fund­raising efforts enabled Auxiliary national leadership to take timely and informed financial management action that eliminated the Auxiliary's fiscal year 2005 budget deficit. Thank you, Mr. Lowe."
Mr. David L. Ten Broek
"Mr. TEN BROECK is cited for outstanding achievement in support of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Department of Education from January 2006 to November 2006. Demonstrating superior professional competence and initiative, Mr. TEN BROECK designed the Department of Education's tutorial for the AUXPlus-PE database program. As a direct result ofMr. TEN BROECK's commitment to high quality customer service, Flotilla public education program managers across the nation were able to quickly and reliably leverage the benefits of this new information management tool. I note with pride and am pleased to commend you for your performance of duty while serving as Chief, Community Outreach Branch from December 2005 to November 2006. You established the Auxiliary's Speakers' Bureau, coordinated the Veteran's Oral History Project and the Children's Outreach Project, and arranged appearances of Coast Guard Auxiliary Color Guards at numerous sporting events. I note with pride and am pleased to commend you for your performance of duty while serving as Conference Secretary and Public Affairs Reporter for the Navigator and SITREP magazines at the Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in June 2005 and at the Caribbean Volunteer Maritime Search and Rescue Conference (CSAR) in Miami, Florida in July 2006. You generated comprehensive conference summaries that captured all salient points from more than 15 different breakout sessions and ensured prompt distribution to all attendees. UNITED STATES COAST GUARD AUXILIARY SELF-CONTAINED MOBILE AUXILIARY RESPONSE TEAM TIGER TEAM
For exceptionally meritorious service from January 2006 to December 2006 while serving on the Coast Guard Auxiliary Self-contained Mobile Auxiliary Response Team (SMART) Tiger Team. The Team's exhaustive efforts and perseverance resulted in the development of a unique SMART concept. This model combined Auxiliarists' unique capabilities and experience with the mobility and self-sufficiency of specialized motor vehicles. As a result of their determined efforts, the Team crafted a comprehensive and inventive approach to staging and delivering emergency services in advance of and in response to national disast,ers. Thank you, SMART Tiger Team members."

For exceptionally meritorious service from January 2006 to December 2006 while serving on the Coast Guard Auxiliary National Legislative Liaison Team. The Team provided a vital link between the Auxiliary and key regulatory entities across the nation. Though its conscientious monitoring and analysis of major regulatory initiatives, including programs that affected mandatory life jacket wear by children and boater education, the Team enabled the Auxiliary to provide invaluable support of boating safety legislation and policies across the nation. Thank you, National Legislative Liaison Team."

UNITED STATES COAST GUARD AUXILIARY 2006 DISCOVER BOATING TOUR MARKETING TEAM
For exceptionally meritorious service from January 2006 to December 2006 while serving on the Coast Guard Auxiliary 2006 Discover Boating Tour Special Events Marketing Team. Working closely with the National Marine Manufactures Association, the Team arranged for display of a specially-designed recreational boating safety and lifejacket exhibit at Auxiliary outreach events. More than 150,000 boaters across the nation were introduced to the Auxiliary's diverse programs and services through this exhibit. As a direct result of the Team's tireless commitment to effective and efficient boating safety education programs, the Auxiliary earned the National Water Safety Congress' highest award for boating safety outreach. Thank you, 2006 DISCOVER BOATING TOUR MARKETING TEAM."

DIVERSITY AWARD
Mr. Don Lloyd
The Diversity Award is presented to Mr. Don Lloyd for the following:
Special projects:
Encouraged all Districts to appoint and empower District Diversity Advisors to promote awareness of Diversity issues and recruit new members from diverse groups.
Encouraged unit(s) to complete the criteria for the NACO 3 Star Diversity Award.
Conducted Diversity seminars at national meetings.
Served on the Commandant's Diversity Advisory Council (DAC).
Outstanding Achievement:
Mr. Donald Lloyd served for two years as the Division Chief of Diversity for the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary's Department of Personnel.  In that capacity, Mr. Lloyd supervised three Branch Chiefs and provided the overarching leadership for the Auxiliary's Diversity Goals and Objectives:
Create a positive environment, value all members, and promote individual success.
Under Mr. Lloyd's leadership, the Diversity Division Staff actively encouraged each District across the nation to appoint a District Diversity Advisor.  These specially trained individuals advise their District leadership on issues related to recruiting and retaining members from diverse and underserved constituencies, and act as the single point of contact for district Diversity issues.
The National Commodore's 3 Star Diversity Award is presented to those flotillas that show a commitment to Diversity, Mr. Lloyd was tireless in encouraging flotillas to qualify for this award, Working with flotilla leaders and other members of the National Staff, Don was instrumental in assisting many in meeting the award criteria, which resulted in the development of a positive environment for all members within the units.
Don Lloyd used his many talents and skills, along with his perennial good nature and professionalism, to advance the cause of diversity within the Auxiliary and the Coast Guard. At both the Auxiliary National Conference and NTrain, he conducted workshops and seminars to benefit our members.  Mr. Lloyd facilitated sessions using the Just Be F.A.I.R. materials provided by the Coast Guard and other materials gained through personal study and experience.  His commitment to detail in answering questions and his skill as an instructor during these workshops enhanced the materials and presented the Diversity concepts in practical terms and applications.
Mr. Lloyd further distinguished himself by serving with exceptional performance on the Commandant's Diversity Advisory Council (DAC) that meets in Washington, DC.  He gathered input from the Auxiliary field and discussed issues of concern to all members of the Coast Guard: Active Duty, Reserve, Civilian and Auxiliary.  His input and contributions to the DAC were appreciated by all members.  Mr. Lloyd consistently reported to the National Commodore on DAC initiatives and those reports were posted on the national website for all members to share.
Mr. Donald Lloyd's involvement and professionalism has exemplified consistent outstanding performance in support of the Coast Guard's Core Values and Diversity Policy Statement.
