The Coast Guard Auxiliary Center Article and photos by Mel Borofsky, Editor SITREP
Friday, 26 January 2007 Not far from where NTRAIN is convened stands a very non descript building housed in an everyday looking industrial park. That is the Coast Guard Auxiliary Center managed and maintained by the Coast Guard Auxiliary Association, Inc. Here is where the books, manuals, novelties and Auxiliary uniform items are stored, sold and shipped. On first look it resembles any other industrial storage facility until, on closer inspection, the shelves are filled with items most Auxiliarists would recognize. Following a conference, such as NTRAIN, imagine the quantity of travel claims reaching the office in a matter of a few days. Its Director, Mr. Marty Phillips and his staff of four very ably manage this task with speed and precision. A truly remarkable and efficient operation. |
