Purpose
This event evaluates the Competitor’s knowledge of rules of the road, signals, aids to navigation, light patterns and terminology commonly in use in a maritime environment.
Expectations
Team members will individually complete a 60-question multiple choice test. The printed questions will be followed by four choices. The correct or ‘best’ answer will be recorded on the answer sheet. The questions will be selected so that no regional bias exists and no questions will be posed where there is a difference between Inland and International Rules.
Scoring
Individual team member’s scores will be added together to arrive at a team score.
Judges’ decisions will be final.
There is a 45-minute time limit for this event.
