A Unique Brainstorming Session Article and photos by Mel Borofsky, DVC-AP, Editor SITREP
A unique event, a first of sorts, took place on Friday evening. Under the aegis of COMO Fred Gates, NADCO-Member Services (MS), Gail Fisher, Department Chief, Training (DC-T) and their staffs, N-Train attendees from the MS services gathered in a one huge room with a single purpose in mind, recruiting. About fifty Auxiliarists, mostly District Staff Officers from the Public Affairs (PA), Publications (PB) and Computer Services (CS) departments joined in a brainstorming session. Its purpose was to generate new ideas for future membership recruiting campaigns. After some initial amusing and interesting warm-up challenges, the business of the gathering took hold. Attendees were rapidly writing their ideas and suggestions on the many flip charts scattered throughout the room. A review of the ideas by the entire assembly followed. "Many good and very useful ideas came out of this session," said Gail. "What an exciting exercise. They were very animated in their deliberations," said Jennifer Fletcher of the Personnel Services staff. |
