All good things must come to an end, and so it is with NACON 2006. Many tearful goodbyes mixed with a lobby full of luggage. Many new friendships were made and many reunions took place. “Have a safe trip home and we’ll see you next year in Portland,” was heard all morning.
Thanks to the great driver staff of Dallas area Auxiliarists, led by John Combs, every Auxiliarist needing a ride to the airport was accommodated. These men and women started their treks at 0400 and kept up the pace well into the late afternoon. That’s what is called great Texas hospitality.
As mention, it’s next year in the lovely city of Portland, Oregon, on the banks of the Willamette River. The “City of Roses” is new and vibrant city and ready to welcome the USCG Auxiliary in 2007.
So, mark your calendars and reserve the date.
