National Marine Manufacturer’s Association

For their promotion of recreational boating safety with their mobile marketing tour which introduced and impacted hundreds of thousands of people to the sport of fishing, boating and boating safety.

West Marine, Inc.

For helping promote safe recreational boating during National Safe Boating Week 2005. This promotion offered any boater passing a vessel safety check a free West Marine tee shirt bearing the “You’re in Command, Boat Responsibly” logo. They also offer boaters who satisfy the vessel safety check requirements a discount on safety related products in their stores.

Nationwide Insurance Co.

For a generous contribution that is helping bring “America’s Waterway Watch” program to the boating public. Their direct financial support helps the U.S. Coast Guard reach and educate recreational boaters on their responsibility to exercise homeland security vigilance while boating, thus, potentially deterring acts of terrorism upon our nation’s waterways.

Trans World Publishing, Inc.
Boating World Magazine

For including the “You’re In Command” initiative in their magazine which reaches tens of thousands of boaters. They have invited the Auxiliary’s National Press Corps to write and submit articles for publication. They are offering free trial subscriptions to our public education students and new members of the Auxiliary.

Boater’s World, Inc.

They promote “America’s Waterway Watch” in each of their 120 stores, with the delivery of 12,000 pamphlets and stickers to boating customers. This aided the U.S. Coast Guard in reaching and educating recreational boaters on their responsibility to exercise homeland security vigilance while boating. Additionally, the company offers boaters, who get a vessel safety check, the opportunity to obtain boating safety items at a discounted rate to make for a safer vessel.

Boat Owners Association of the United States
