"The Auxiliary Achievement Medal is awarded to Auxiliarists in recognition of their sustained professional and/or leadership achievements in administration or operations. It may be awarded by any Coast Guard Commanding Officer (Lieutenant Commander or above) of an operational unit or serving as a Division Chief or higher at a district office, MLC, Headquarters, or serving as a Director.” Mr. Melvyn A. Borofsky Mr. BOROFSKY is cited for superior performance of duty while serving as Chief, Media Division and Editor of the Auxiliary e-magazine "SITREP" from September 2004 to September 2005. Exhibiting exceptional professionalism and technical competence, Mr. BOROFSKY expertly led all media coverage of the National Auxiliary Conference held in Costa Mesa, California and the National Auxiliary Training Conference held in St. Louis, Missouri. His enthusiasm and determination were embraced by all Auxiliary Public Affairs Department staff and were instrumental to "SITREP's" timely delivery of accurate and relevant articles about recreational boating safety and maritime homeland security. Mr. Eric J. Hebert Mr. HEBERT is cited for superior performance of duty while serving as Technical Development Specialist, Auxiliary Center from June 2004 to June 2005. Displaying exceptional technical skills and outstanding professional competence, Mr. HEBERT developed the "Online Store" for the Auxiliary Center's Direct Sales Pilot Program as part of the Coast Guard Auxiliary "ShopAuxiliary" web site. As a result of Mr. HEBERT's unflagging enthusiasm and attention to detail, the "Online Store" web site greatly improved the Auxiliary materials purchasing services for Auxiliary membership, which resulted in increased sales for the Pilot Program. Mr. William J. Reisa Mr. REISA is cited for superior performance of duty while serving as Auxiliary Liaison to the Joint Sea Services Committee of the National Boy Scout Jamboree Task Force from July 2004 to August 2005. Exhibiting exceptional foresight and managerial skills, Mr. REISA oversaw staff assignments, training, and supervision of the 200-member Coast Guard contingent that consisted of active duty, reserve, civilian, and Auxiliary participants in this international event held at Fort A. P. Hill, Virginia. As a result of his outstanding enthusiasm, leadership, and commitment, more than 43,000 Scouts from over 30 nations and 270,000 visitors received expert exposure to recreational boating safety. Mr. Wayne B. Spivak Mr. SPIVAK is cited for superior performance of duty while serving as webmaster for the Auxiliary Center and the Auxiliary Association from September 2002 to April 2005. Demonstrating superb initiative and technical expertise, Mr. SPIVAK masterfully redesigned the Auxiliary Center web site which greatly improved user readability and interface options. Mr. SPIVAK's resourcefulness and ability to resolve any concern proved invaluable to Auxiliary leadership by significantly reducing the need for administrative oversight while yielding prominent, user-friendly web sites. Ms. Thyra K. Stevenson Ms. STEVENSON is cited for superior performance of duty while serving
as Technical Development Specialist, Auxiliary Center from June 2004
to June 2005. Displaying exceptional technical skills and outstanding
professional competence, Ms. STEVENSON developed the payment and ordering
modules of the "Online Store" for the Auxiliary Center's
Direct Sales Pilot Program and as part of the Coast Guard Auxiliary
"ShopAuxiliary" web site. As a result of Ms. STEVENSON's
unflagging enthusiasm and attention to detail, the "Online Store"
web site greatly facilitated and improved the Auxiliary materials
purchasing services for Auxiliary membership and resulted in increased
sales within the Pilot Program. |
