NACON 2004
for services set forth in the following CITATION: “For exceptional meritorious service from January 2004 to April 2004 while serving on the Aviation Capabilities Team. The Team is credited with formulating and developing proposals for the implementation and deployment of imaging and digital communications from Auxiliary aircraft. Working under the direction of the Aviation Division of the National Auxiliary Department of Operations, the Team was tasked with reporting on aviation imaging capabilities for evaluation by the Coast Guard. The Team exhaustively researched and reported on new technologies and existing programs for imaging and image distribution while assessing program capability needs. In preparing their report, the Team evaluated technologies and methods used by commercial, professional, law enforcement agencies and military services in capturing visual images from aircraft. Systems were categorized and detailed by capabilities, potential applicability to Auxiliary deployment, and costs. The Team then crafted and delivered a comprehensive report that detailed a range of Coast Guard applications and a menu of implementation options. This valuable report was completed and presented on-time to the National Auxiliary Department of Operations and the Coast Guard. The dedication, pride and professionalism displayed by the 2004 Auxiliary Aviation Capabilities Team are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.” For the Commandant, The 2004 Auxiliary Aviation Capabilities Team
