NACON 2004 THE AUXILIARY COMMENDATION MEDAL
Mr. HUNTSMAN is cited for outstanding achievement while serving as Chairman of the National Legislative Liaison Committee from 1 November 2002 to 3 September 2004. Mr. HUNTSMAN expertly facilitated development, management, and mentoring of the committee’s Area Coordinators as well as provided invaluable guidance to the Committee as a whole and the Auxiliary’s State Legislative Liaison network across all 50 states. In outstanding and professional fashion, he led the committee to organize State Legislative Liaison Officers into a cohesive and vibrant force in the timely collection and reporting of legislative information for local, regional and national interests. With deep personal conviction, Mr. HUNTSMAN inspired committee members to strive for maximum engagement with governmental and other agency counterparts. As a direct result of his unflagging leadership and enthusiasm, the committee was frequently recognized by governmental and private organizations at all levels including the National Transportation Safety Board, National Boating Federation, and National Marine Manufacturers Association for its outstanding support. Mr. HUNTSMAN’s unwavering commitment to timely and comprehensive communication in the advancement of legislation beneficial to America’s boaters earned the Auxiliary legislative liaison network a well-deserved reputation as a vital tool in the Coast Guard’s recreational boating safety repertoire. Mr. HUNTSMAN’s dedication, judgment, and devotion to duty are most heartily commended and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
