NACON 2004
SUMMARY OF SERVICE
2. Worked with Education Department to set up a communication vehicle for state BLAs to obtain critical updates to PE instructors. A network of list servers was established to allow one way communications from BLAs to PE instructors and staff officers. 3. For national and regional public affairs events, established procedures for utilization of the national display booth. The procedures describe the responsibilities and logistics for acquisition of the display booth from and its return to the AUXCEN. 4. Developed a State Liaison Officer Handbook to be utilized by appointed SLOs and other elected/staff officers. The handbook can also be used as a reference document for CGD Recreational Boating Specialists and state Boating Law Administrators. 5. Liaison efforts with marine industry manufacturers resulted in eight companies that agreed to use the Boat Smart message in their printed materials and, in some cases, on their web sites. 6. Developed a RBS brochure that explains how to “Locate a Boating Safety Professional In Your Area.” This useful hand out, to be utilized at various PA events, will enable boaters to more easily access information on PE classes and VSCs. 7. Worked with National SAFE KIDS Campaign partnership to get relevant information to Auxiliary units on SAFE KIDS week (1-8 May 2004). Information will enable units to link up with efforts in their geographical area. 8. Worked with West Marine to renew partnership agreement. WM is planning a PE class promotion package and may initiate incentives for store managers to partner with local units. 9. Established a five-year plan that outlines initiatives and projects for the next several years. Provides affected line/staff organizations with items to include in their plans. WEM 4/5/04 |
