NACON 2004
1. COMO Larsen served as NAVCO-A(E) during the period 1 November 2002 to 3 September 2004 with distinction. 2. She worked in close coordination with the Auxiliary district/region Commodores in her AOR providing timely guidance and ensuring the maximum achievement of the national goals that conditions would permit. She also worked with the DCOs to optimize support for Coast Guard units, operational and administrative. 3. COMO Larsen planned and conducted six National Area Planning Meetings (NAPMs) that included the DCOs, VCOs and DIRAUXs from each Auxiliary district/region. She also, in conjunction with NAVCO-A(W), conducted two joint NAPMs. These well planned meetings provided for open discussions of concerns and problem while also providing a venue for development of suggestions/recommendations to improve the Auxiliary, its programs and missions and communications. 4. She attended as many conferences and board meeting of the assigned districts as time and schedules would permit. She routinely attended numerous LANTAREA Flag Conferences and all four all Flag and SES Conferences. In all cases she routinely discussed or briefed, as appropriate, on the status of the Auxiliary and other matters of interest to the Auxiliary and the Coast Guard. 5. COMO Larsen was designated by the NACO as the Auxiliary’s National Executive Agent for Operation Boat Smart and You’re In Command programs of the Coast Guard. In this capacity she disseminated pertinent information thru talks/briefs at conferences and articles in several publications.
