(L) Dr. Larry Berman, DCP 15, D7 and (R) Lou Deninzio, FC 15-5

The Gainesville Sun, The Rotary Club of Gainesville, FL and The Volunteer Center of Alachua County recognized Lawrence Berman, Captain, Division 15, D7, for “Outstanding Volunteer Service Benefiting Our Community” for the 2004 "Works of Heart" awards program.

Dr. Berman was recognized for the work he does for the community primarily with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is active in all cornerstones of the Auxiliary program including vessel examination, public education, member training, operations and leadership. As a member of the Auxiliary for sixteen years, he has volunteered numerous hours of service.

Although his "day job" is very demanding, he maintains leadership positions on both the Division and Flotilla levels, always striving to do more.
