Friday Night Fun Night
“Howdy,” was the greeting of the evening as the attendees gathered for a night of fellowship. Most literally “let their hair down” for the country/western theme of the evening (as many of our photos will attest). We were serenaded throughout the evening by a wonderful, volunteer Nashville swing band. The sounds of Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman made us forget for a few moments that we were in Nashville…. until you looked across the table and were faced with someone who stepped out of the TV set of “Hee Haw.” We were treated to an excellent buffet barbecue with “all the fixins,” right down to the warm bread pudding and peaches n’ cream. Our table centerpieces were signed guitars autographed by such notables as Eddy Arnold, Brenda Lee and Whisperin’ Smith. These signed guitars were auctioned off with the proceeds going to a worthy cause. A great time was had by all….. the accompanying photos are just
an example of the fun. A complete set of photos of both Friday’s
Fun Nite and Saturday’s Commodore’s Banquet will be posted
on SITREP within the week for you to download and enjoy. |
