THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION TAKES PLEASURE IN PRESENTING
THE TRANSPORTATION 9/11 MEDAL FOR SERVICES SET FORTH IN THE FOLLOWING
CITATION:
For meritorious service and sacrifice in the wake of the horrible
Terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the
Pentagon in Washington, DC. In the hours and days after the attacks,
countless humanitarian and Heroic acts as well as extraordinary devotion
of duty took place, followed by response, and recovery. As a shocked
Nation awoke to a new and real threat of terrorism within
the boarders of the United States, these dedicated professionals rose
to the challenge of
establishing a dramatic heightened security presence, positively impacting
millions of
citizens throughout the entire transportation infrastructure. By their
sacrifice, professionalism,
Esprit de corps, these men and women reflect great credit upon themselves
and the United States of America.

In 2002, Flotilla 10-8 purchased a “Coastie” and combined
three BoatUS grants for signs and tee shirts saying “I got caught
wearing my life jacket” and “Remember 3 to Ski” water
ski flag and whistles to “Blow the whistle on Carbon Monoxide.”

Division PA Staff Officer
Debbie Engle created an inexpensive way to show the public what the
Auxiliary does and gave recognition to members by creating a photo gallery
of 16 photos the can be displayed at events.
Best District Public Affairs Program, District 17, Noreen Folkerts,
District Publications Officer
Noreen Folkerts created a series of 12x18 posters of Auxiliarists in
action that can be displayed anywhere. She created an eye catching logo
to display the posters, all out of her home. Folkerts is now creating
posters for other Districts.
