ISAR 2003 By Mel Borofsky, BC-ADG, Editor SITREP
ISAR 2003 is history, it’s on to Portsmouth, VA for ISAR 2004. We hope that the photos and articles featured in SITREP helped “bring you to the games.” You now have a chance to put yourself into next years pictures (and compete in the games). It’s not too early to start your planning and honing up your skills. The events are not for the faint hearted, but once accomplished, win or lose, you will gain a sense of pride in being one of the best of the best.
ISAR 2004 The competitions of ISAR 2004 will be held along the Portsmouth Seawall at the north Ferry Landing on the waterfront outside of the Renaissance Hotel. Portsmouth is a charming, historic port city located in the middle of Hampton Roads. It is ideally located at the middle of the Atlantic Coast and the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay on the Elizabeth River. Portsmouth is only a quick ferry ride to Virginia Beach, or a 50 minute ride to Colonial Williamsburg. Within Portsmouth itself, you can stroll along the famous seawall and walk through three centuries of history in one of America’s most historic neighborhoods. You can visit the Lightship Museum, Naval Shipyard Museum, Courthouse Galleries, Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, and the famous “Olde Towne.” You will be able to walk to the Elizabeth Ferry that connects to Norfolk. Plan to be there….. that’s where the action will be. Photos of Commodore Everette Tucker and Commodore Bob Colby being greeted
