Saturday, September 27. Once again we gathered in the Grand Ballroom of the Delta St. John’s Hotel, our home away from home these past few days. There was a mixed air in the room, a bit of relaxed air, now that the events were over and a bit of tense air, waiting the announcement of the winning teams.

Conversations were interrupted by the sound of the piper as he led the dignitaries of the head table into the room. In traditional fashion, the piper was “paid” (I hope the drink offered in payment was not of the “Screech” variety).

Following a delicious meal, greetings were offered by many of the dignitaries. Some light hearted bantering about who will keep the “big” trophy was the biggest topic.

The focus of the evening was the awarding of the trophies to the winning teams. There were two trophies awarded for each USA/Canada event, one for each nation’s winning team. One trophy was awarded to the International Team that won their specific events.

Of course there is only one “big” trophy, and that trophy is the one awarded to the overall 2003 ISAR Champion.
